ODDEVEN is a retail business based in Fitzroy, Melbourne, Australia. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you browse oddeven.com.au, place an order with us, or otherwise get in touch.
We've tried to write this in plain language rather than dense legal text. If anything is unclear, email us at hello@oddeven.com.au and we'll explain further.
This policy applies to customers everywhere, though we're based in Australia and our core obligations sit under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). Where relevant — for example, if you're shopping from the EU or UK — we've also built in the rights you're entitled to under the GDPR and UK GDPR.
01 | Information We Collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
Details you give us directly
• Name, email address, phone number
• Billing and shipping addresses
• Order history and payment confirmation (we don't store your full card details — see Section 05, Payment Processing)
• Account login details, if you create an account
• Anything you share with us when you contact customer support
Details collected automatically
• Device and browser information
• IP address and approximate location
• Pages viewed, products browsed, time spent on site, and how you arrived at oddeven.com.au
• Information collected through cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 03)
Details from third parties
• Confirmation of successful payment from our payment providers • Basic information passed to us if you interact with our ads or emails through platforms like Meta or Google

We collect information:
• Directly from you — when you browse the site, create an account, place an order, sign up to emails, or contact us
• Automatically — through cookies and analytics tools as you use the site
• From service providers — such as Shopify (our ecommerce platform), our payment processors, and advertising platforms
03 | How We Use It
We use your information to:
• Process and fulfil your orders, including arranging shipping and handling returns or exchanges
• Manage your account, if you have one
• Respond to customer service enquiries
• Send order-related communications (confirmations, shipping updates, receipts)
• Send marketing communications, if you've opted in — see Section 06, Marketing Communications
• Improve our website, product range, and customer experience
• Detect and prevent fraud or misuse of our site
• Meet our legal and tax obligations
We only use your information for the purpose we collected it for, or a purpose you'd reasonably expect. We don't sell your personal information.
04 | Cookies & Tracking Technologies
Like most online stores, oddeven.com.au uses cookies — small files stored on your device — to make the site work properly and to understand how it's used.
We use cookies for:
• Essential functions, such as keeping items in your cart and letting you check out securely
• Analytics, so we can see which products and pages are performing well, using tools like Google Analytics and Shopify's built-in analytics
• Advertising, through tools like the Meta Pixel and TikTok Pixel, which help us show relevant ads and measure how well they perform
You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings at any time. Turning off non-essential cookies won't stop you from shopping with us, but may affect things like personalised recommendations or ad relevance.
05 | Third-Party Services
We rely on a small number of trusted service providers to run our store:
• Shopify — our ecommerce platform, which hosts our site and processes orders. Shopify has its own privacy and cookie policies, available at shopify.com/legal • Google Analytics — website usage and performance analytics • Meta Pixel and TikTok Pixel — advertising performance and audience insights on Meta and TikTok platforms • Shopify Email — our email marketing tool, used to send order updates and, where you've opted in, marketing emails
Each of these providers processes information according to their own privacy policies, and we choose providers who take data protection seriously.
06 | Payment Processing
We don't store your full payment card details ourselves. Payments are handled securely by:
• Shopify Payments
• PayPal
• Afterpay and Zip (buy-now-pay-later options)
These providers collect and process your payment information directly, under their own privacy and security policies, in order to complete your transaction.
07 | Marketing Communications
If you sign up for our emails or opt in at checkout, we may send you updates about new arrivals, restocks, promotions, and brand news.
You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any marketing email, or by emailing hello@oddeven.com.au. Opting out of marketing won't affect transactional emails, such as order confirmations or shipping notifications, which we'll continue to send as needed to fulfil your order.
08 | Data Sharing
We share personal information only where necessary, including with:
• Service providers who help us run our business (Shopify, payment processors, analytics and advertising platforms)
• Delivery and logistics partners, to get your order to you
• Professional advisors, such as accountants, where required
• Authorities, if required by law, or to protect our legal rights
We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.
09 | International Transfers
As we sell globally and use international service providers (including Shopify, based in Canada, and various US-based analytics and advertising platforms), your personal information may be stored or processed outside Australia — including in the United States, Canada, and other countries.
Where we transfer personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it's handled consistently with Australian privacy law and, where applicable, in line with GDPR-recognised transfer mechanisms such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
10 | Data Retention
We keep personal information for as long as it's needed to fulfil the purpose it was collected for — including to complete your order, meet tax and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and comply with the law.
When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to securely delete or de-identify it.
11 | Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss, or unauthorised access. This includes secure hosting through Shopify and restricted access to customer data within our business.
No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so while we work hard to protect your information, we can't guarantee absolute security.
12 | Children's Privacy
Our site and products are intended for adults, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at hello@oddeven.com.au and we'll take steps to delete it.
13 | Your Privacy Rights
If you're in Australia, under the Privacy Act and Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:
• Ask what personal information we hold about you
• Request corrections to inaccurate information
• Make a complaint if you believe we've mishandled your information
If you're in the EU or UK, you additionally have rights under the GDPR / UK GDPR, including the right to:
• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction or deletion of your information
• Object to or restrict certain processing
• Request a portable copy of your information
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority
Wherever you're based, you can exercise any of these rights, or ask us anything about how we handle your data, by emailing hello@oddeven.com.au. We may need to verify your identity before actioning certain requests, and we'll respond within a reasonable timeframe as required by applicable law.

We may update this policy from time to time as our business, tools, or legal obligations change. Any updates will be posted on this page with a revised "last updated" date. We'd encourage you to check back occasionally.
